Recalling the Camino de Santiago
I came across a 2 hour film on YouTube titled, “Walk Through Fire” – a record of a young woman’s journey across the Camino de Santiago. It is an emotional start as she described her reasons for walking the Camino not once, but twice. It is her second trip she is recording and sharing.
Stefanie Hurtado does a nice job of letting one experience the Camino through her eyes – connecting with new friends along the way.
It was a joy to see not only the paths and landmarks from my own Camino, but even the same store owners of coffee shops we stopped in along the way!
Although Lisa and I have also walked the Camino twice….I am longing to go back. I realize my heart yearns for the walking, the silence, the prayer, and the beauty of Spain – both in nature and in the Churches.
Lisa and I have talked about going again in another couple of years. Perhaps to walk the “Norte” route which is much more sparse from cities and pilgrims. Somehow, Spain and her people have found a special place in my heart and watching documentaries and films like this just stokes the fire within!
Buen Camino friends.
