We thankfully went the wrong way as we were leaving Fromista and found a church which was open and just finished morning Mass. We stopped in to offer our prayers and intentions for the day and once again admire the beauty here in Spain.

We then asked some local parishioners outside the church, “Donde esta El Camino?”, and they kindly pointed us towards the way.

We continued on the”Maseta” – this long stretch of generally flat areas spanning between towns through fields and along roadways. We arrived at the next town and found a local albergue which offered some drinks and areas to rest. It was an eclectic albergue with teepees and huts for people to stay in, and strange large statues around the grounds.

We arrived in Carrión de Los Condes to spend Sunday here and rest. We had planned to stay in this particular town because it doesn’t have much for sightseeing and we would just be able to rest and lay around the room. The Lord knows how to provide! Turns out I picked up some chest cold along the way and really needed a day just to lay down take some medicine and sleep.
We plan to go to mass and generally just take a day off. Fromista continues to be the place of surrender leaving this morning with this cold and wrestling with ideas of whether we can complete the Camino again. I realize it’s not about completing a task or a mission. This Camino is about learning to walk with Christ in prayer. The amount of solitude and aloneness we have experienced as we have walked this Camino has provided every opportunity for that.

We are now only 277 miles from Santiago. But we continue to take the Camino one day at a time.
Buen Camino 🙏❤️
