Today was a short walk into Pamplona. We stayed just a couple miles outside the city so this was overall an easier day of walking which was good because we are nursing some minor strains from the last couple of big days mountains.

It is always remarkable to see structures that are older than our own country. The bridge we walked across today was built in the 1100s. We took a day to see some of the city and especially the beautiful cathedral here in the center of Pamplona. It was especially beautiful to take some time for prayer in this sacred space.

We took well over 100 pictures today so you’ll have to go to our album to see them all. One moment I was especially blessed by was after observing groups of people on tours and being slightly saddened that the cathedral seemed more of a museum than a sacred space, one of the groups broke into spontaneous song after their tour guide gave them a presentation.
One of our favorite moments was finding the side chapel where the Blessed Sacrament was present for adoration. Finding that lit red candle brings joy to your heart!

As we continued through the city we found another church built in honor of my patron saint, Saint Ignatius of Loyola. What a joy to find they were having adoration at that moment as well! So we spent a few moments saying hello to Jesus.

Tomorrow will be a much longer day of walking as we begin our ascent over the next set of mountains. Rain is in the forecast and so we will be offering up tomorrow for the intention of all of Florida and the areas impacted by the coming hurricane.

We continue to keep you all in prayer especially those in need of healing and the consolation of Jesus Christ.
Buen Camino ❤️.
